What is a sober coach? Do I need one? How much does it cost?

Coaching sessions follow no set curriculum. Unlike Alcoholics Anonymous sponsors, coaches are not confined to a 12-step program, and services are customized to fit clients' needs. I meet with clients up to three times a week, typically for six months to two years. I help clients learn to deal with free time by mapping out schedules with hour-by-hour activities. I  also focuses on exercise, meal planning, career/school guidance, budgeting issues and ways to have sober fun. I help each client navigate through life post-rehab, ensuring they  remain free from the chaos and disruption that substance abuse can create. 

In summary, I will provide coaching in building and strengthening your coping skills and strategies for reaching incremental, reasonable, and measurable goals.

I will encourage you to continue with other methods of treatment (meetings, support groups, counseling, etc.) while being coached personally at the same time and will often work hand-in-hand with a licensed therapist or psychologist.  I have formal training and education in the alcohol and drug and co occurring disorders field. I could have a place in your recovery, especially if you have failed at rehab before.  I am here to be the helping hand to navigate that last step of the journey that you have been unable to do so far on your own.

There is a shortage of individual counselors and therapists. Residential treatment centers require extravagant admission fees.  Insurance requires high deductibles and out of pocket expenses for both residential and intensive outpatient treatment.  Intensive outpatient programs are costly if clients are out-of-network.  Both options require clients to commit to spending 30-90 days and large amounts of their time away from their careers, jobs, and family.   I can help you with reasonable fees.
